Final Four Games

By: Bobby Latrel at http://www.1800-sports.com

The Final Four games are a big betting business, especially during March Madness. NCAA Basketball fans look forward to wagering on the Final Four games every year; so much so that the art of betting on the Final Four games has become a science. The Internet provides a myriad of resources for the avid Final Four bettor.

The final four games are the end result of a tournament that begins with 65 basketball teams. On selection Sunday, the 65 teams that are chosen to compete in the Final Four games are announced. Each division then has a competition that results in one winner for each division - hence the Final Four. The two weakest teams out of the four divisions that compete begin the "play-in" game and teams are then removed from the list via the process of elimination. This process of elimination is known as the single elimination play - which involves the removal of the losing team from the competition.

During the Final Four games, none of the teams that have been chosen to compete by a committee designed by the NCAA are allowed to play on their home court. Rather, areas in which neither team calls home are chosen for those teams to compete. This is to remove any biased strengths a team may possess because they are in their hometown. Clearly an audience filled with basketball fans are more likely to urge on their home team. Thus, in a neutral setting, the competing teams do not have to deal with one-sided fans. Avoiding the home court takes from teams the strength they may derive from playing in their own home towns - as we know many teams play better in home town games versus the away games.

One tradition at all of the games during the tournament results when the winning team cuts down the basketball net at the end of the game. The net is then cut into smaller pieces and all of the pieces are allotted to the winners of the game as a memento for taking part in the NCAA March Madness tournament. Finally, in a period that consists of two days during March, the final four games are played. On the first day of a chosen weekend the four teams engage in the semi-finals. The following day, the remaining two teams compete for the championship - the final outcome, of course, is the winner of the Final Four.

2008 NCAA March Madness Predictions

The 2008 NCAA March Madness Prediction is here! Those who enjoy online betting and making the big March Madness prediction aren't usually doing either one blindly. There's much to consider before the seasoned gambler turns on the computer, trots out their March Madness prediction and gets down to making wagers. A familiarity with the teams, the season and the quirks of both are essential to making an informed bet. Your March Madness prediction could certainly be done at random, or based on the hunches you got from watching a few of the NCAA matches early on in the season.

The online gambler going for the big cash-in won't be doing this. Instead they take in a number of variables. Picking a winner? Look at the matches. Is your favorite team playing at home or traveling long distances to hit the court? In the world of online betting and making the March Madness prediction, travel fatigue can make the difference between picking a winner or a loser.

Is your favorite team the kind that is able to come from behind and pull off the big win in the nick of time? What's their track record for this? Did you watch them pull off a miracle once, only to fumble the chance three or four other times, or do they play consistent ball from behind? These questions are important when it's time to lay your money down. March Madness picks from the World's top sports Handicappers!

Of course, the reverse is true; when making your March Madness prediction, consider whether your team is prone to 'the big choke' when the pressure's on. Anybody can take the lead early in the game, but if your boys are dropping the ball - literally and figuratively - when the chips are down, you might want to pass on putting your money on them. Check the odds at your online betting house and see whether your faith in the squad can stand up to the numbers.

Another variable to consider is a team's star power. The Chicago Bulls had Michael Jordan - a practically unstoppable basketball robot. Does your March Madness prediction team have its own secret weapon? Do they have a weak link in the chain that could turn them into a risky bet? How have they performed against the teams they are likely to face in the tournament? A strong, consistent crew is a good bet, but your unpredictable team might be more risk than you care to invest in.

Of course, there's always the wild card bet. Examine the odds and see if you can pick a dark horse as your March Madness prediction. The longer odds you get, the higher your winnings, but choose wisely and don't put all your eggs in one basket. Your dark horse may come from the back of the pack to pull off a Cinderella-style comeback only to run out of steam in the final crucial moment. No matter which team you choose, be sure to do your homework, gamble responsibly, and most of all, have fun!
