Duke Blue Devils took their cut of the A-10 Temple Owls. The first think of note is the suddenly return of what it looks like a missing for year’s player, Kyle Singler.
In the past month, Singler’s shooting has become the victim of the misfortune; but his bad play looks to be over since the game against Temple. His first shot missed, and you could tell he will be sucking all the game; however that wasn’t the case. He led the team with 28 points scored in 10-for-19 shots. It was like if the Duke Captain came back from the grave and looked more like the shooting monster of the last March.
The offensive boost provided by Singler helped to outmatch Temple 78-61 Singler had a streak of bad games and got many fumbles; he scored a total of 41 points in the four past games combined.
The Temple is the first high ranking team that the Duke’s faced. The expectative for Dukes to win were too low; however after six games of bad luck, the Duke’s surprised Temple and everyone and the biggest surprise was Singler’s shoots. Also, the great display of Nolan Smith; who also score 15 points by his own; Smith played fluid, quick and in occasions was like if he cannot be stopped at all. Nolan is one big star for the Devils
The Temple was the second-first time team outside the Duke Schedule. They also faced Georgia Tech on February 20. For Singler was nice to play a different teams in place of the ones he is used to and it looks like he need it to boost his capabilities. Duke will need this same amount of energy for this coming February 26 at Virginia Tech while returning to ACC competition, and the support of Singler effective shoots.
Duke had won 86 consecutive non-conference home games within 11 years span. At this season, Duke has won 16 games in their home, and has marked their third season in a row in Cameron Indoor Stadium. They still have one pending game at home against the Clemson Tigers.
They lead the ACC rooster with an overall win/loss of 26-2 points. Virginia Tech follows from the fourth place with 18-8 with the Clemson Tigers on their heels 18-9.
In betting notes; against Virginia Tech, we can see Dukie’s has all the favors of the gods of basketball at hand. They have good shooters, re-bounders and defenders and usually turn the game to their favor; they have talented players and a competent coach, and they know how to play hard. So I’ll go for Blue Devils and hope to win a few bucks.
